HS Code Lookup

Browse the Harmonized System (HS 2022) by chapter, or search by code or product keyword.

For reference only

This list covers the first 6 digits, which are the same worldwide. Duty rates depend on the full national code (8 digits in the EU Combined Nomenclature, 10 in TARIC). The final classification is decided by customs; in the EU you can request a Binding Tariff Information (BTI) decision.

For example 8471 or bicycle. Headings use the official English wording, so search by code or in English; chapter names can also be searched in your language.

How do HS codes work?

The Harmonized System is maintained by the World Customs Organization and used by more than 200 countries and territories. It is organised into 21 sections and 96 chapters.

The first 2 digits are the chapter, the first 4 the heading and the first 6 the subheading. For example, 8471.30 covers portable computers: chapter 84 (machinery), heading 8471 (data processing machines).

Headings (4 digits) and subheadings (6 digits) are shown in the official English wording of the nomenclature.
